Sheboygan Area School District Families Get Free Breakfast and Lunch for 2026-27
Sheboygan, WI August 18, 2026
Families in the Sheboygan Area School District can plan on no-cost student breakfast and lunch when the 2026-27 school year begins Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
SASD says all enrolled students will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge during the school year through the federal Community Eligibility Provision, or CEP. The program is intended to make school meals available to students without requiring families to pay for those meals at the point of service.
What families should know
The district’s meal information explains that the no-cost benefit applies to student breakfast and lunch. Adult meals, extra portions and a la carte purchases are separate and are not automatically covered by the student meal program.
Families should also watch for district instructions about CEP or information-sharing forms. While the forms may not be required for every student to receive the meal benefit, household information can help support school funding, discounts and eligibility for other programs. Families should complete forms when the district requests them and follow the instructions provided by SASD.
First day of school is September 1
The SASD 2026-27 calendar lists Tuesday, September 1, 2026, as the first day of school and the start of the first quarter. Families can use the district’s school-meals pages for current information about meal service and related forms as the school year approaches.
For families managing back-to-school costs, the no-charge student meal program is one less daily expense to plan for during the coming school year. Share this update with other SASD families, leave a comment, send feedback, and add your own local news on the site’s Publicize page.
