Sheboygan County, WI — Friday, July 31, 2026

Beach Hazards Statement is in effect for the Sheboygan County lakeshore.

The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan issued the statement at 8:41 AM CDT Friday, July 31, 2026. NWS says life-threatening waves of 4 to 6 feet and dangerous currents are expected, creating dangerous swimming conditions due to high waves and onshore winds.

When the statement applies (Sheboygan County lakeshore)

  • Saturday, Aug. 1: 4:00 AM CDT
  • Monday, Aug. 3: 1:00 AM CDT

What to do

  • Stay out of the water.
  • Stay away from dangerous areas like piers and breakwalls.
  • For families: keep kids and pets back from the shoreline — rip currents are possible even when conditions look calm.

If you’re heading to the lakeshore for photos or a walk, keep well back from the waterline and avoid “staying to watch” in areas where currents can concentrate.
