A National Weather Service Beach Hazards Statement will affect Lake Michigan beaches from Sheboygan south to Kenosha, including Sheboygan County beaches, from 4 p.m. Monday, September 14, through 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 15.
The NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan office identified a high swim risk in updates issued Sunday, September 13, and advised the public to stay out of the water during the statement period.

What Sheboygan County beachgoers should know
Residents and visitors should avoid swimming in Lake Michigan from 4 p.m. Monday through 1 p.m. Tuesday. The NWS also advises people to avoid piers, breakwaters and other exposed shoreline areas where conditions may be hazardous.
The statement covers the Lake Michigan shoreline south from Sheboygan to Kenosha. For Sheboygan County families, visitors and waterfront event planners, that means making an alternate plan for water activities and using caution around exposed shoreline locations during the active period.
