Sheboygan Residents Can Bring Large Items to the Aug. 15 Disposal Event
Sheboygan, WI — August 7, 2026 — City of Sheboygan residents will have a free opportunity to dispose of qualifying large household items Saturday, August 15, during a Department of Public Works event at the Municipal Service Building.
Event details
The disposal event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2026 New Jersey Avenue in Sheboygan. Residents must be in line by 12:30 p.m. Later arrivals may be turned away, so participants should plan enough time for unloading and traffic at the site.
The event is limited to City of Sheboygan residents. Bring proof of residency, and be prepared to unload your own vehicle or trailer.
What residents can bring
Accepted materials include:
- Bagged or boxed trash
- Household furniture
- Mattresses and box springs
- Toys
- Scrap metal
- Miscellaneous junk
Residents should sort items before leaving home because several materials are not accepted. The prohibited-items list includes hazardous waste, tires, construction materials, Freon appliances, yard waste and electronics.
Entrance, exit and weather instructions
Traffic should enter from the west using Virginia Avenue from South 22nd Street. Vehicles will exit south onto New Jersey Avenue.
The city notice says the event may be canceled or close early because of weather. Check the official City of Sheboygan notice before traveling to the Municipal Service Building for any updated instructions.
For the smoothest visit, bring proof of City of Sheboygan residency, load only accepted materials, arrive well before the 12:30 p.m. cutoff and leave room to unload everything yourself.
