Sheboygan Residents Can Bring Large Household Items to September 19 Disposal Day
Sheboygan, WI — September 11, 2026.
City of Sheboygan residents will have a free opportunity to dispose of large household items on Saturday, September 19, during the city’s Large Item Disposal Day.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Municipal Services Building, 2026 New Jersey Avenue, Sheboygan. The service is limited to City of Sheboygan residents, and proof of residency is required.
What residents can bring
Accepted materials include bagged or boxed trash, household furniture, mattresses and box springs, toys, scrap metal, and other miscellaneous household junk.
Residents should check the list before loading a vehicle. The city will not accept hazardous waste, tires, construction materials, Freon appliances, yard waste, or electronic waste through this event.
Arrival and unloading instructions
Residents must unload their own items. Traffic will enter from Virginia Avenue using South 22nd Street and exit onto New Jersey Avenue.
The line cutoff is 12:30 p.m. Residents arriving after that time may not be accepted, even though the event is scheduled to continue until 1 p.m. Drivers should plan extra time if they expect a busy line.
The city’s 2026 Large Item Disposal Day program runs from May through October. The Department of Public Works advises residents to check for a city cancellation notice if weather conditions change before the event.
For Sheboygan residents clearing out a basement, garage, attic, or moving-related household clutter, the September 19 event offers a convenient disposal option—but only for materials listed by the city and only with proof of City of Sheboygan residency.
