Sheboygan Clarifies Purpose of September Data Center Speaker Series
Sheboygan, WI — August 24, 2026.
The City of Sheboygan is clarifying the purpose of its upcoming data center speaker series: The four-part program is intended to help residents and Common Council members learn about potential data center impacts as the city considers future zoning standards.
City Administrator Casey Bradley issued the clarification Monday, August 24, after the Common Council adopted a 12-month moratorium on data centers. The city says the educational sessions are part of a broader public discussion and future zoning-code work.
No specific project is proposed
According to the city, no data center project is currently being proposed in Sheboygan. The speaker series is not intended to advocate for or against a particular project.
Instead, the sessions will give the public an opportunity to hear from speakers, learn about issues connected to data centers and participate in question-and-answer periods. The information may help residents better understand topics that could be considered during future local zoning discussions.
September sessions planned at Uptown Social
The educational series will be held at Uptown Social, 1817 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan, Wisconsin 53081. Virtual viewing will also be available through the city’s listed WSCS and Microsoft Teams livestream options.
The scheduled sessions are:
- Wednesday, September 9: 6 to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, September 16: 6:30 to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, September 23: 6 to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, September 30: 6 to 8 p.m.
Residents planning to attend should check the City of Sheboygan’s Data Centers Educational Speaker Series page for the speaker lineup, presentation details and the latest virtual access links.
For Sheboygan residents, the series offers a direct way to follow a local policy discussion before any future zoning decisions are made. It also gives community members an opportunity to ask questions in person or online while the city works through the educational and planning process.
