Barn Fire on County Road Y
A barn in the Town of Mosel was destroyed by fire on Saturday, February 28. According to reports from local authorities, multiple 911 calls came in around 1:45 p.m. reporting flames at a property on County Road Y. When crews arrived, the structure was fully engulfed.
The barn and equipment inside were deemed a total loss. Three nearby vehicles were also damaged. No injuries were reported, and the cause remains under investigation by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office and responding fire departments. Residents in the area may have noticed emergency vehicles and temporary traffic disruptions during the response.
Road Work & Transportation
I-43 Reconstruction Underway
Major reconstruction work began March 2 on portions of I-43 in Sheboygan County. The project includes resurfacing and structural improvements along segments of the interstate.
While the primary work zone is south of the City of Sheboygan, Town of Mosel residents who commute via I-43 should expect lane shifts, reduced speeds, and possible delays in the coming weeks. Motorists are encouraged to plan extra travel time and watch for updated traffic control signage as the project progresses.
State and local transportation officials note that the work is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve safety along one of the county’s busiest corridors.

Spring Break and Upcoming Board Meeting
The Sheboygan Area School District, which serves families in the Town of Mosel, has several important dates ahead. Spring Break is scheduled for March 20 through March 27, with no school for students during that period.
In addition, a Board of Education committee and full board meeting is set for March 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the district offices on Stahl Road in Sheboygan. School board meetings are open to the public and provide residents an opportunity to stay informed on district planning, budgeting, and policy decisions that affect local students.
Families are also reminded that March 30 is a no-school day for students due to staff professional development.
