Sheboygan Mayor’s International Committee Plans Sept. 19–20 Weekend Abroad Fundraiser

Sheboygan’s Mayor’s International Committee will host MIC’s Weekend Abroad on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, at Christopher Farm and Gardens in the Town of Mosel, Sheboygan County.
The scheduled public fundraiser will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the farm, located at W580 Garton Road, Sheboygan, Wisconsin 53083. Proceeds will support cultural exchange and sister-city programming involving Tsubame, Japan, and Esslingen, Germany.
Saturday features Japanese-themed activities
Saturday’s programming will focus on Sheboygan’s sister-city relationship with Tsubame, Japan. The event schedule includes a kendo demonstration, cultural activities, games, ramen, lucky bags, face-painting and a Sora Matcha tasting VIP experience.
The Japanese-themed day gives families and visitors an opportunity to enjoy food and activities while learning more about the cultural exchange work connected to the sister-city relationship.
Sunday celebrates Esslingen, Germany
Sunday’s programming will celebrate Sheboygan’s relationship with Esslingen, Germany. Organizers list German music, games, Christmas cards for Esslingen, a stein-holding contest, brats, beer and a beer-tasting VIP experience among the planned offerings.

What families should know
Children age 4 and younger will receive free admission. The event is a scheduled public fundraiser at Christopher Farm and Gardens, which is private property and is not regularly open to the public. MIC’s Weekend Abroad offers two different cultural experiences at the same Sheboygan County venue, with proceeds returning to local sister-city and cultural exchange programming.
