Sheboygan County Gas & Diesel Watch: Regular Gas Eases Slightly, Diesel Climbs Again
What changed at the pump
Sheboygan County drivers got a mixed update in AAA’s May 9, 2026 price check. Regular gas in the Sheboygan metro average eased to $4.400, down 1.1 cents from the previous check and 1.5 cents from last week. Diesel moved the other way, climbing to $5.699, up 4.4 cents from the last check and 21.3 cents from a week ago.
That means everyday fill-ups are a touch cheaper than they were yesterday, but diesel is still doing more damage to budgets for anyone running work trucks, delivery vans, farm equipment, service fleets, or heavy weekend travel.
Why diesel is the bigger concern right now
Diesel is the fuel that local contractors, haulers, restaurant suppliers, and small businesses feel fastest. When diesel pushes higher, it can add pressure to hauling costs, delivery routes, and the price of getting tools, materials, and inventory around the county. For farm traffic and other diesel-powered work, the change matters even more because those tanks are larger and refill more often.
Regular gas is still high, but the slight dip gives commuters, school-run families, and visitors a small break compared with the previous check. It is not a big swing, but it does move in the right direction for drivers who are watching every gallon.

Regular gas is now 1.5 cents lower than a week ago, but it is still up 58.4 cents from a month ago and 145.4 cents from a year ago. Diesel is up 21.3 cents from last week, 74.2 cents from last month, and 248.9 cents from last year.
In plain terms: gas is easing a little, but both fuels are still far above where they were last spring. For weekend travelers heading out of Sheboygan, that keeps fuel a meaningful line item. For delivery drivers and service businesses, diesel remains the sharper pressure point.
