Lakeshore College Open House Set for Oct. 28
CLEVELAND, WI — Lakeshore College will hold its Chart Your Course Community Open House on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m. at its Cleveland campus, 1290 North Avenue. Prospective students and community members can explore more than 65 career programs, tour learning spaces and talk with people who can help them plan their next step.
The evening also includes Make Some Sparks!, a hands-on welding career event from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Pine Building. The welding activities have their own schedule and registration, so visitors interested in both events should plan around that shorter window.
Explore programs and tour the Cleveland campus
The open house is designed for people beginning their education, weighing a career change or simply learning what Lakeshore offers. Faculty, current students and campus staff will be available to discuss programs and answer questions.
Personalized tours will give visitors a look inside culinary labs, the manufacturing center, dental labs, nursing classrooms, law enforcement training areas, information technology spaces and the maker’s space. Guests can explore associate degrees, technical diplomas, certificates, apprenticeships and partnerships that provide pathways toward a bachelor’s degree.
Representatives can explain financial aid, scholarships, admissions and academic support. Visitors can also ask about credit for prior learning, military benefits, student clubs, childcare and other resources that may help them fit college into their lives.
Food trucks and campus activities are part of the event. Lakeshore says prospective students can apply even if they have not chosen a program, and the college does not charge an application fee.
Try welding at Make Some Sparks!
Lakeshore and the American Welding Society Lakeshore Section are hosting the welding portion of the evening. Students and parents can meet welding professionals, experience welding practices and learn about scholarship opportunities.
The college’s Make Some Sparks! event page lists a $500 scholarship raffle opportunity and a welding skills competition with a $1,000 Lakeshore College Welding Program scholarship for the winner. Participants must be present to win, and the awards are subject to the published rules. No prior welding experience is required for the competition.
All Sparks attendees must provide a signed release. Attendees younger than 18 need a parent or guardian’s signature; adults can sign for themselves. The registration confirmation screen provides access to the release form.
For Sparks, enter from West Campus Drive, park in Lot 1 and use Pine Building entrance PEM1. Review the event page’s campus map and rules before arriving.
