Lakeshore’s Paul Carlsen Named to Wisconsin Titan 100
CLEVELAND, WI — Lakeshore College President Paul Carlsen has been named to the 2027 Wisconsin Titan 100, a statewide recognition of CEOs and senior executives. He will be honored Jan. 21, 2027, at Fiserv Forum.
Lakeshore announced the selection Oct. 12. The college says Carlsen is the only Wisconsin technical college president on the 2027 list and the only representative of the state’s technical college system recognized since the Wisconsin program began in 2023.
What the Wisconsin Titan 100 recognizes
The program recognizes executive leadership across business, education and nonprofit organizations. Its official 2027 honoree list includes Carlsen as Lakeshore College’s president and CEO.
According to Titan 100, this year’s honorees and their organizations collectively generate more than $39.4 billion in annual revenue and employ more than 41,000 people. Those figures describe the entire group of honorees, rather than Lakeshore College individually.
Lakeshore College’s work in the region
Carlsen became Lakeshore’s president in 2017. In its announcement, the college highlighted efforts during his tenure to make education more flexible, expand university transfer pathways and develop programs that respond to employers’ needs.
- Flexible learning: expanding competency-based education and options centered on students’ learning needs.
- University partnerships: strengthening pathways for students who plan to continue toward a bachelor’s degree.
- Career training: expanding opportunities in fields such as healthcare and commercial truck driving.
Those efforts connect the Cleveland-based college with students and employers throughout the Lakeshore region. Along with its main campus at 1290 North Avenue in Cleveland, the college operates learning campuses in downtown Sheboygan and downtown Manitowoc.
Community and national leadership
The college also noted Carlsen’s service on the boards of the American Association of Community Colleges, New North, the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation and the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. His work in those organizations includes education partnerships and workforce issues.
Carlsen credited others at the college and in the community for the recognition.
“This recognition also reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, students and community partners,” Carlsen said.
Awards ceremony set for January
The Wisconsin Titan 100 awards ceremony is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2027, at Fiserv Forum. Honorees represent fields including manufacturing, construction, finance, technology, healthcare, education and nonprofit leadership.
