Cold Hands, Warm Hearts, Kids Embrace Winter Fun at Kiwanis Park
The icy bite of early December couldn’t compete with the laughter echoing across Kiwanis Park on December 7, 2025. As the first snowfall of the season blanketed the hills, children bundled in snowsuits raced up and down, determined to squeeze every ounce of joy from winter’s arrival. Among them were brothers Ivan and Arlo Hall, whose excitement was impossible to miss as they trudged uphill again and again, cheeks red from the cold, smiles wide with anticipation of the next ride down.

Their father, Andrew Hall, watched nearby, sharing stories of how winter fun extends beyond the park and into their own backyard. “We drag them around the yard with the lawn tractor,” Hall said with a laugh. I’ve got a snowblower attachment for our lawnmower because we do a lot of different snow things. We have friends over and stuff. And they like to go behind it in their sled so I’ll take them around the block during a snowstorm.” The family turns snowstorms into gatherings, inviting friends over and creating memories that last far longer than the snowfall itself. Sometimes, he even tows the kids around the block during a storm, sleds trailing behind as laughter cuts through the swirling snow.
Moments like these are a reminder that warmth doesn’t always come from the temperature—it comes from togetherness. In the heart of winter, with frozen fingers and foggy breaths, Ivan and Arlo and the other children at Kiwanis Park showed that joy is often simplest: a snowy hill, a trusty sled, and the freedom to be a kid. As December settles in, these small, magical moments are what truly make the season shine. ❄️
