The National Weather Service says a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for Lake Michigan nearshore marine zone LMZ643 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. CDT Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The zone includes the nearshore waters off Sheboygan County and extends south to Port Washington.

What NWS expects
The advisory cites hazardous conditions for small craft, including waves of 3 to 5 feet. A nearshore marine forecast issued at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday calls for south winds of 15 to 20 knots and waves of 2 to 4 feet near Sheboygan.
The conditions may affect people planning boating, fishing or other small-craft travel along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The advisory applies to the water in marine zone LMZ643, not to all Sheboygan County beaches or all Lake Michigan waters.
