Town of Holland: Open Book Begins May 4, Board of Review Set for May 20
It is a relatively quiet week in the Town of Holland, with the most time-sensitive update focused on property assessments. Residents with questions about their 2026 valuations will want to mark their calendars.
Open Book for 2026 Assessments Begins May 4
The Town of Holland has announced that the 2026 assessment roll will be open for examination beginning Monday, May 4, 2026. Open Book hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, at the Town Hall, W3005 County Road G, Cedar Grove.
In addition, the town assessor will be available by phone from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on May 4 for individual discussions about property record cards, valuation methods, and any new information property owners would like considered.
This is the first step for residents who believe their property assessment may be inaccurate. Reviewing the assessment during Open Book is strongly encouraged before filing a formal objection.
Board of Review Scheduled for May 20
The Town of Holland Board of Review will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Holland Town Hall.
Property owners intending to object to their assessment must provide notice at least 48 hours before the Board of Review’s first scheduled meeting, unless specific exceptions apply under state law. Residents planning to appear should review the procedural requirements in advance to avoid delays.
For many homeowners and farmers in the town, these dates represent the primary opportunity each year to address property valuation concerns.
School District Connection: Oostburg Schools Serve Holland
Families in the Town of Holland are served by the Oostburg School District, which covers the Village of Oostburg and the Town of Holland. District offices are located at 410 New York Avenue in Oostburg.
With the school year entering its final full month, families should watch district communications for spring concerts, end-of-year activities, and graduation-related information.
Public Safety Coverage
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department provides contract patrol services to the Town of Holland, meaning deputies handle routine patrol, investigations, and emergency response within the town.
Residents are encouraged to report non-emergency concerns through the Sheriff’s Office and stay alert for seasonal road and farm-traffic safety issues as planting season ramps up across the area.
