Plymouth Reliability Line Is in Service; Restoration Continues

American Transmission Company now lists the Plymouth Reliability Project’s transmission infrastructure as complete, with the new line placed in service in May 2026. Restoration work remains ongoing during summer 2026 in the Towns of Lyndon and Mitchell in Sheboygan County.
Seven-mile line now in service
The project includes approximately seven miles of double-circuit, 138-kilovolt transmission line. It connects Plymouth Utilities’ new Plymouth 5 Substation to an existing American Transmission Company line.
ATC says the project was built to improve electric reliability, relieve delivery-system constraints and support current and future local energy demand. For residents and businesses connected to the Plymouth Utilities system, the verified change is added transmission capacity and a stronger regional electric system rather than an immediate individual billing or service adjustment.
Restoration work continues
Although ATC’s current project page marks the transmission infrastructure complete, the company says restoration activities were still continuing during summer 2026. Landowners and nearby residents may therefore continue to see restoration work or related project activity even though the line is operating.
The Wisconsin Public Service Commission identifies the project location as the Towns of Lyndon and Mitchell, Sheboygan County, under docket 137-CE-205. The commission issued its final decision in the case on January 31, 2025.
