Sheboygan County Board to Consider $129,873 in Culvert Aid for Three Towns

Sheboygan County supervisors are scheduled to consider a proposal providing $129,873.15 in county aid for six culvert or bridge replacement projects in the Towns of Holland, Plymouth and Sheboygan.
Resolution No. 14, submitted by the County Transportation Committee on August 18, 2026, remains a proposal and has not been approved. The resolution calls for each participating town to provide an amount equal to the proposed county contribution for its projects.
Six projects are listed
The largest proposed county share is $65,373.75 for the Cedar Court Culvert No. 4228 in the Town of Holland. The other Holland projects listed are Hoftiezer Box Culvert No. 4290 at $34,837.75, Palmer Culvert No. 4320 at $7,022.41 and Ebbers Road No. 4508 at $2,334.15.
The Town of Plymouth project is Woodland Road Culvert No. 6826, with a proposed county share of $9,051.31. The Town of Sheboygan project is Meadowbrook Culvert No. 5272, with a proposed county share of $11,253.78.
Combined, the six proposed county payments total $129,873.15. The resolution says the participating towns would provide matching amounts, meaning the proposed county aid would not cover the full cost of the listed work.
Proposed 2027 tax-levy treatment
The resolution proposes funding the county appropriation through a tax levied as part of the 2027 County tax levy. It cites Wisconsin Statute 82.08 as the authority for county bridge and culvert aid.
The documents do not provide an individual property-tax estimate. Any local tax effect would depend on County Board action and the county’s 2027 levy process.
County Board meeting set for September 15
The County Board is scheduled to consider the resolution at 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in Sheboygan. The County Transportation Committee is scheduled to meet beforehand on September 8, according to the county meeting calendar.
Residents in the three towns can follow the September 15 County Board action to see whether the proposed culvert and bridge aid moves forward. The resolution remains subject to board consideration and approval.
