Glenbeulah, Weekly News Brief (Sheboygan County Focus)
Road Work & Travel
Major construction is now underway on Interstate 43 in Sheboygan County, a key route for Glenbeulah residents commuting toward Sheboygan and beyond. According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, a $21 million resurfacing and structure project began March 2 and covers more than 10 miles from Wilson/Lima Road in the Town of Wilson to WIS 42 in the Town of Sheboygan.
Early work includes tree clearing and right-of-way improvements. Longer-term lane reductions are expected to begin later in March, with reduced lanes in both directions and periodic ramp closures. The project also includes bridge maintenance, guardrail updates, and new pavement markings. Work is expected to continue into fall 2026.
Drivers from western Sheboygan County, including Glenbeulah, should plan for extra travel time, especially during peak commuting hours and as ramp closures are announced.
Schools: Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah
The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah School District has a Board of Education meeting scheduled for March 16, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Community members can monitor the district website for the posted agenda and supporting materials ahead of the meeting.
School board meetings are where decisions related to budgeting, staffing, facilities, and district policies are discussed and acted upon. With spring activities and planning season underway, families and residents who want to stay informed on district priorities are encouraged to review meeting materials and attend if possible.
Looking Ahead in the Village
As March begins, residents should also keep an eye on Village of Glenbeulah postings for any local board or committee meetings and seasonal notices. Early spring typically brings updates related to public works, road maintenance planning, and community services as weather conditions improve.
With daytime temperatures trending milder this weekend and into early next week, local travel and outdoor activity are expected to pick up. That makes staying informed about highway construction and school events especially important for area families.
