🧭 What’s Under the Hood: Series Highlights
IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
Top-tier prototypes and GTs battle head‑to‑head in GTP (prototype), LMP2 (LMP2-spec), GTD Pro (pro GT drivers) and GTD (pro‑am GT). The Motul Grand Prix Sunday race is the weekend’s centerpiece, launching at 2:10 pm ET. Recent dominance by Porsche Penske in the GTP class adds to the drama.
Michelin Pilot Challenge – Road America 120
Saturday’s full‑length 120-minute race features Grand Sport (GS) and Touring Car (TCR) classes. GS machines include Porsche 718 GT4 RS and BMW M4 GT4, while TCR field includes highly competitive closes-knit Honda Civic, Hyundai and Cupra entries. The GS title battle has tightened after recent podium finishes, while TCR features a four‑race Road America win streak from Tim Lewis Jr. that may continue in his Honda.
Porsche Carrera Cup North America
Featuring 29 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars (Type 992), this series heads to Road America for its traditional ANDIAL Cup round. Tight points races in Pro, Pro-Am, and Masters classes continue at full throttle as Riley Dickinson holds a slim lead.
Mustang Challenge & Lamborghini Super Trofeo
These single-make series bring high-octane sprint racing Friday through Sunday with Ford Mustang and Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo cars battling in short, fast race sessions—with practice, qualifying, and double race weekends.
