Town of Sherman Roundup: Annual Meeting Recap, I-43 Work Update
Town of Sherman residents saw a mix of local governance updates and regional infrastructure news this week, with the town’s annual meeting held and major highway work continuing nearby.
Annual Meeting Held April 21
The Town of Sherman Annual Meeting was held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, as previously scheduled by the town board. The meeting serves as the primary yearly forum for residents to review town operations and raise issues directly with officials.
Town officials had posted notices in advance and confirmed the 2026 annual meeting date earlier this year. Residents who were unable to attend can monitor meeting minutes and future agendas through the town’s official website.
Board of Review Coming Up May 7
Looking ahead, the Town of Sherman Board of Review is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. This is the formal opportunity for property owners to discuss or contest property assessments.
Residents planning to appear before the Board of Review should confirm procedural requirements in advance, including any necessary objection forms or appointment scheduling.
I-43 Resurfacing in Northern Sheboygan County
Drivers in and around Sherman should plan for continued Wisconsin Department of Transportation work on Interstate 43 between Wilson/Lima Road in the Town of Wilson and WIS 42 in the Town of Sheboygan.
The project includes resurfacing and bridge repairs and may affect travel patterns for residents commuting toward Sheboygan or using I-43 for regional trips. While not directly inside Sherman, the corridor is a key north-south route for many town residents.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and watch for lane shifts and construction signage in the work zone.
County EMS Expands Emergency Capabilities
Sheboygan County residents, including those in Sherman, may also benefit from a new emergency medical service enhancement announced this month. The City of Sheboygan Fire Department has implemented a program allowing paramedics to carry and administer blood products in the field.
The service is the first of its kind in Sheboygan County and enables life-saving transfusions to begin before patients reach the hospital. The equipment and startup costs were funded through a state EMS grant.
Although operated by the City of Sheboygan, advanced EMS capabilities can support mutual aid responses across the county when needed.
Staying Informed
Residents are encouraged to regularly check the Town of Sherman website for meeting agendas, minutes, and notices. With assessment season underway and road construction picking up across the county, late April and early May are typically active weeks for local government activity.
