Town of Scott Roundup: I-43 Lane Closures, Council Meeting April 27
Road construction and upcoming public meetings are the biggest items affecting Town of Scott residents this week, along with several countywide business and safety events in the days ahead.
I-43 Construction Continues Through Town Area
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is continuing resurfacing and structure work on I-43 in Sheboygan County. Crews are working between Highway 42 and County Road V, with additional activity between Highways 32 and 23.
Continuous outside lane closures are in place in both northbound and southbound lanes. For Town of Scott residents who commute toward Sheboygan, Plymouth, or Manitowoc, drivers should expect reduced speeds and possible backups, especially during peak morning and afternoon hours.
Base patching and right-of-way fencing work are also underway. Motorists are encouraged to check 511WI before heading out, particularly with rain showers likely Monday and thunderstorms Monday night that could affect traffic flow.
Sheboygan Common Council Meeting April 27
The Sheboygan Common Council is scheduled to hold its second regular April meeting on Monday, April 27 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 828 Center Avenue.
While held in the City of Sheboygan, council decisions often affect Town of Scott residents who rely on city services, employment centers, and regional infrastructure. Agendas and livestream access are available through the city meeting portal for those who want to follow along.
Residents interested in regional development, public works projects, or licensing and public safety matters may wish to review the posted agenda in advance.
Additional I-43 Resurfacing Between Wilson and WIS 42
Separate from the structure work noted above, the DOT has also begun resurfacing and bridge repairs on I-43 between Wilson/Lima Road in the Town of Wilson and WIS 42 in the Town of Sheboygan.
This stretch serves as a primary north-south corridor for Town of Scott households. Drivers should plan for work zones, lane shifts, and changing traffic patterns over the coming weeks.
County Business & Safety Events Next Week
The Sheboygan County Chamber calendar shows several events scheduled for the week of April 29, including industry and safety roundtables and networking events. While not specific to Town of Scott, these programs are open to area employers and professionals and may be relevant to local business owners and managers.
Those interested can review the April event listings through the Chamber website for details and registration information.
