Town of Holland Area: I-43 Lane Closures, School Events, Patrol Update
Road construction, spring school activities, and ongoing public safety coverage are the key updates affecting Town of Holland residents this week.
I-43 Resurfacing Brings Lane Closures Near Holland
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation continues its long-term resurfacing and structure work on I-43 in Sheboygan County, directly affecting drivers in and around the Town of Holland.
According to area reports, crews are working between Highway 42 and County Road V, with additional fencing and base patching work between Highways 32 and 23. Continuous outside lane closures in both northbound and southbound directions are in place during construction.
For Town of Holland commuters heading toward Sheboygan, Plymouth, or Manitowoc, drivers should plan for reduced speeds and possible delays. Up-to-date project details and traffic conditions are available through WisDOT’s 511 Wisconsin system.
Oostburg School District Spring Activities
The Town of Holland is served by the Oostburg School District, and several late-April and early-May events are on the calendar for students and families.
Oostburg Christian School recently hosted its 5K–5th Grade musical on April 23 and continues spring programming with track club practices, a May 1 music festival, and the Sheboygan County Track Meet scheduled for May 7. A Run, Jog, Walkathon is also planned for May 8.
In addition, open enrollment for the 2026–27 school year is underway. Families considering enrollment changes should review district timelines and requirements soon.
Sheriff’s Patrol Coverage Continues in Holland
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department provides contract patrol services to the Town of Holland. Residents can expect continued routine patrols and response coverage as part of the countywide law enforcement structure.
While no major Holland-specific incidents were reported publicly this week, residents are reminded to report non-emergency concerns through the Sheriff’s non-emergency line and to use 911 for emergencies.
Looking Ahead
With construction season underway and school events ramping up, traffic volumes on local highways and rural roads are likely to increase. Warmer spring weather also brings more pedestrian and farm equipment traffic on town roads.
Residents should monitor WisDOT updates for construction impacts and check with the Oostburg School District and local schools for end-of-year event details and schedule adjustments.
