Waldo, Roundup: Lion’s Club Dinner, County EMS Upgrade, I-43 Work
Waldo residents are seeing a mix of community tradition and county-level updates this week, from a major fundraiser in town to transportation and public safety developments that affect daily life.
Lion’s Club Pork Chop Dinner Returns April 25
The Waldo Lion’s Club hosts its annual Pork Chop Dinner on Saturday, April 25, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waldo Memorial Hall, 308 W 1st St.
The longtime spring fundraiser supports local service projects and community needs. With Waldo’s population under 500, events like this remain one of the primary ways local organizations raise funds and bring neighbors together. Residents planning to attend should expect steady traffic around Memorial Hall during the late afternoon and early evening.
Spring Election Results Posted for Waldo
Unofficial results from the April 7, 2026 Spring Election have been posted by the Village of Waldo. Local races and ballot questions were decided earlier this month, and residents who were unable to follow results on election night can now review outcomes through the village website.
The Spring Election included local offices and other nonpartisan contests affecting Sheboygan County communities. Anyone with questions about voter registration, absentee voting, or upcoming elections can contact Village Hall at 810 W 2nd St.
Sheboygan County EMS Milestone Launches
On April 15, the City of Sheboygan Fire Department officially launched a prehospital blood administration program, becoming the first EMS service in Sheboygan County to carry and administer blood products in the field.
While based in the City of Sheboygan, the program represents a countywide advancement in emergency care. For rural communities like Waldo, where transport times can be longer, earlier access to life-saving blood transfusions during severe trauma incidents may significantly improve outcomes.
The initiative was funded through state EMS grant support, minimizing direct local tax impact.
I-43 Improvements Continue in Sheboygan County
Interstate 43 resurfacing and structure work in Sheboygan County continues following a March 2 start. The project includes roadway improvements and related infrastructure upgrades.
Although Waldo is located along WIS 57 and WIS 28 rather than directly on I-43, many residents commute toward Sheboygan, Manitowoc, or Milwaukee using the interstate. Drivers should anticipate work zones, possible lane adjustments, and periodic traffic shifts as construction progresses this spring.
Travelers are encouraged to check 511 Wisconsin for current conditions before longer trips.
Looking Ahead
With spring construction season underway and community events picking up, Waldo residents can expect a busy stretch heading into May. Staying connected through village notices and county updates remains the best way to track changes that affect local roads, public safety, and civic life.
