Sheboygan, WI — September 9, 2026.
Sheboygan residents and local stakeholders can attend the opening session of the City of Sheboygan’s educational data-center speaker series from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, at Uptown Social, 1817 North 8th Street.
Public session focuses on energy and operations
The featured speaker is Becky Valcq, president of Alliant Energy’s Wisconsin electric company and vice president of energy delivery. Her presentation will focus on energy policy, regulation and operations guidance related to data centers.
The session is open to the public. The city also lists virtual participation through WSCS and Microsoft Teams options for people who cannot attend in person.
Series is intended to inform future policy discussions
The City of Sheboygan says no data-center project is currently being proposed. Instead, the speaker series is designed to help city officials, residents and other local stakeholders better understand the industry’s potential energy, infrastructure and policy considerations.
The educational sessions are part of the city’s preparation for possible future zoning-code discussions. The September 9 program is informational and is not a public hearing or zoning decision.
Residents planning to attend in person should go to Uptown Social at 1817 North 8th Street in Sheboygan. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. Virtual access details are available through the city’s Data Centers Educational Speaker Series page.
