Tuesday, September 1: Dense Fog Advisory Covers Lake Michigan Nearshore Waters Near Sheboygan

Sheboygan, WI — September 1, 2026.

The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan office reaffirmed a Dense Fog Advisory at 5:48 a.m. CDT Tuesday, September 1, 2026, for Lake Michigan nearshore waters from Sheboygan to Winthrop Harbor, including the Sheboygan-to-Port Washington zone.

Advisory remains active through 4 p.m.

The advisory is scheduled to remain in effect through 4 p.m. CDT Tuesday. Dense fog may reduce visibility to 1 nautical mile or less, making navigation difficult for boaters and other users of the nearshore waters.

Boaters should slow down and use navigation equipment

The NWS advises anyone who must navigate during the advisory to proceed cautiously. Boaters should reduce speed, use proper fog signals, turn on all running lights, and use radar and a compass.
