Rebuilding Together Receives Grant for Sheboygan County Home-Safety Sessions
Sheboygan County, WI — August 22, 2026.
Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County has received a $2,500 AARP Community Challenge microgrant to support home-safety education, seasonal maintenance guidance, resource connections and possible home repairs. Two upcoming information sessions are scheduled in the City of Sheboygan and Village of Adell.
The grant-supported program focuses on adults age 50 and older, but people of any age may attend. The sessions will offer practical guidance for homeowners, older adults, caregivers and others who want to identify fall hazards, maintenance needs or home modifications that may support aging in place.
Upcoming Sheboygan County sessions
The remaining sessions are scheduled for:
- Wednesday, September 9, at 10 a.m. at Uptown Social, 1817 N. 8th St., Sheboygan.
- Thursday, September 17, at 11 a.m. at Adell Community Center, 510 Siefert St., Adell.
Attendees will receive a home-safety checklist and an AARP HomeFit guide. The talks will also provide information about available services and seasonal home-maintenance needs.
The August 19 session at Generations in Plymouth has already taken place. The September sessions give residents in the Sheboygan and Adell areas additional opportunities to learn about safety improvements and local assistance.
Repair assistance is available by application
Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County provides home repair and modification assistance for eligible residents. Sheboygan County homeowners may apply through the nonprofit, with applications reviewed by a selection committee for eligibility.
Assistance is not guaranteed for every applicant or project. Repair work depends on eligibility, available funding, volunteers and weather. The organization’s programs include home repairs, fall-reduction improvements and its income-based Safe at Home program.
For older adults and caregivers, the sessions offer a practical starting point: review the home, learn which changes may improve safety and find out whether local resources may be available.
