Lakeshore College Elects Board Officers, Reappoints Two Trustees
Lakeshore College has elected its District Board of Trustees officers for the coming term and reappointed two incumbent members to three-year terms.
Monica Nichter will serve as board chair, Plymouth Mayor Don Pohlman will serve as vice chair, and Belinda Esquina will serve as secretary and treasurer.
Pohlman and John Wyatt were reappointed to the nine-member board July 13. Their new terms continue through June 30, 2029.

Lakeshore College’s appointed District Board of Trustees includes nine members representing employers, employees, local government, education and the broader community.
The board is composed of two employer members, two employee members, three additional members, one elected official who holds state or local office and one school district administrator.
Three trustees are appointed each year by a committee consisting of the county board chairs from the four counties within the Lakeshore College district: Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Calumet and Ozaukee.
Don Pohlman Reappointed to Lakeshore College Board
Pohlman is the mayor of Plymouth and has previously served as chair of the Lakeshore College District Board. He will now serve as vice chair.
He earned a degree in accounting and business administration from Concordia University.
Pohlman enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a medic during the Vietnam era. He is a life member of Plymouth VFW Post 5612 and has belonged to Plymouth American Legion Post 243 for 46 years.
His community involvement also includes 47 years as a member of the Plymouth Rotary Club and service as a Boy Scout merit badge counselor.
In addition to his public and volunteer work, Pohlman works part time as a Sheboygan-area school bus driver and drives tour coaches across the country.
John Wyatt Reappointed to Three-Year Term
Wyatt retired from Kohler Co. following a 30-year career that included service as director of infrastructure and operations and director of cybersecurity.
He has more than 40 years of experience managing complex engineering, information technology and business systems.
Wyatt earned a Bachelor of Arts in physics from Central Missouri State University, a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
He serves on Lakeshore College’s Information Technology Advisory Committee and is an elder and treasurer at Plymouth Alliance Church. He also serves on the Plymouth Plan Commission.
Wyatt, who is the board’s immediate past chair, enjoys golfing and working in his woodworking shop.
Board Serves Four-County Lakeshore District
Lakeshore College, formerly Lakeshore Technical College, serves more than 9,000 students annually through career-focused education, technical programs and pathways toward bachelor’s degrees.
The college’s main campus is located at 1290 North Avenue in Cleveland. Lakeshore also operates learning campuses in downtown Sheboygan and Manitowoc and offers classes at additional locations throughout the district.
Approximately 800 students graduate from Lakeshore each year. According to the college, associate degree graduates report a median salary of $61,355 within six months of graduation.
