Walk on the Wild Side at Maywood June 20
The annual fundraiser offers two walking routes, nature challenges and a live-bird presentation for the whole family.
SHEBOYGAN, WI — Maywood Environmental Park will host its annual Walk on the Wild Side fundraiser Saturday, June 20, with registration opening at 8:30 a.m., trails opening at 9 a.m. and activities continuing until 12:30 p.m.
Participants can choose a three-mile route through six of Maywood’s habitats or a shorter, flatter prairie loop. Nature facts and challenge stations will be placed along the course, and Open Door Bird Sanctuary will present a live-bird program and meet-and-greet.
Members of the She Walks Sheboygan team plan to gather near the Sugar House at 11 a.m. Walkers joining that group should remember that 11 a.m. is the team meetup time, not the opening time for the larger Maywood fundraiser.
Adult registration is $10 for Maywood members and $15 for the general public. Youth ages 4 to 17 are $5, and children 3 and younger are free. The event is scheduled rain or shine.
