The NWS forecasts south winds of 15 to 25 knots, gusts up to 30 knots and waves of 5 to 8 feet in the advisory zone. The agency says conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
The formal advisory is a material update to Sheboygan Life’s October 8 preview, which reported that advisory-level conditions were possible and that no advisory had yet been issued. This alert applies to the specified nearshore waters, not inland Sheboygan County.
