Tuesday, May 19: Small craft advisory on the Sheboygan nearshore waters
In a Monday morning update, NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan said the Sheboygan-to-Port Washington nearshore waters, LMZ643, are under a Small Craft Advisory from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 19. The forecast calls for south to southwest winds around 15 to 20 knots, with gusts up to 25 knots and waves around 3 to 4 feet.
The same NWS package keeps thunderstorm chances in the forecast this morning, late tonight, and again Tuesday. Boaters, anglers, and anyone planning a Lake Michigan crossing should check the latest forecast before launching and consider delaying or rescheduling if needed.
That mix of gusty wind, choppy water, and storm chances makes Tuesday a plan-ahead day at the shore.
