Town of Lyndon: Plan Commission May 6, I-43 Ramp Closures
Town of Lyndon residents are heading into a week shaped by a local planning meeting and several significant road projects across Sheboygan County.
Plan Commission Meeting Set for May 6
The Town of Lyndon Plan Commission is scheduled to meet Wednesday, May 6 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Town Hall. Plan Commission meetings typically review zoning matters, land use proposals, and development-related requests that can affect property owners and nearby residents.
Residents with interest in upcoming development, land divisions, or ordinance discussions are encouraged to attend or review posted materials through the town’s official website. Participation at the Plan Commission level is often the first step in shaping decisions before they move on to the Town Board.
I-43 Ramp Closures and Lane Restrictions
Drivers in and around Lyndon who rely on I-43 should plan for multiple ramp closures and lane restrictions in early May as part of the ongoing resurfacing project in Sheboygan County.
Scheduled full daytime ramp closures include:
- Northbound I-43 off-ramp to WIS 28 on Monday, May 4 (4 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
- Northbound I-43 off-ramp to WIS 42 on Tuesday, May 5 (4 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
- Southbound I-43 on-ramp from WIS 42 on Tuesday, May 5 (4 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
- Southbound I-43 off-ramp to WIS 28 on Thursday, May 7 (4 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
In addition, long-term single-lane closures remain in place in segments between WIS 28 and WIS 42, with width restrictions at certain structures. The project is expected to continue through the construction season. Commuters should allow extra travel time, especially during peak hours.
County Road Construction Season Underway
Sheboygan County’s 2026 construction season is active, with several county highways under reconstruction or detour. Of note, County Road J between STH 57 and STH 67 is closed for full reconstruction as of April 20 and is expected to remain closed until late fall.
Other county roads listed for active work include County Roads OO, Q, MM, Y, U, KK, PP, P, and the C/TT roundabout project. Residents traveling toward Plymouth, Cascade, or other nearby communities should check detour signage and 511 before heading out.
Missing Teen Found Safe
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office reported May 1 that a 14-year-old previously considered endangered has been located safely. Authorities said the teen was believed to have been seen in Plymouth prior to being found.
While no additional details were released, the update brings closure to a situation that had prompted public alerts across the county earlier in the week.
