The Shaw family began their journey to fundraise for a playground after their birth of conjoined twins Mateo and McHale in 2006. With the help of the Friends of the Sheboygan Jaycees and support from the City of Sheboygan, the playground opened in 2018.
The playground cannot be rented and is open to the public. The City of Sheboygan provides in-kind labor for site preparation and a new restroom facility. The Friends of the Sheboygan Jaycees are managing the endowment fund to ensure the playground remains accessible and properly maintained.
