Local government

Speed limit changes: The Village of Random Lake has announced reduced speed limits on two road sections within village limits, effective March 2, with new signs to be installed. Orth Drive will be reduced along its entire length, and Carroll Street will be reduced from Hwy 144 to W Lake Drive. The village notes the change is intended to bring all village roads to 25 mph or less.

Village Board meeting (March 2): The Village Board is scheduled to meet Monday, March 2, at 6:00 pm at Village Hall (96 Russell Dr) with a remote option via Google Meet. The agenda includes a consent agenda (including approval of February 16 minutes and multiple check registers), staff and committee reports, public comment, and discussion of future agenda items.

Parks and community

Lake, Parks, and Recreation Committee (March 2): The committee is scheduled to meet Monday, March 2, at 6:30 pm. Items include a request tied to Music in the Park and a proposed bandstand at Bob McDermott Lakeview Park, an update related to an ice cooler at the concession building, a request for rental of the concession building, an update on park camera systems, a Kircher Park tennis court proposal, and proposed locations for wayfinding signs.

Road work and public works

Public Works Committee (March 4): The Public Works Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday, March 4, at 4:00 pm. The agenda includes discussion of Code of Ordinance 30-5 (Snow and Ice Removal), 2026 road projects, vehicle maintenance and inventory, and generators, along with approval of prior meeting minutes and future agenda planning.

Schools and public safety

While the upcoming early-March meetings cover core village operations (roads, snow/ice policy, and community amenities), recent committee materials also reflect coordination with local partners, including the Random Lake School District on utility-billing logistics discussed in prior Public Works Committee minutes attached to the March 4 packet.
