United Church Men & Women to Host Two-Day Celebration of Scholarships and Song

The United Church Men & Women (UCMW) will host a two-day community celebration recognizing scholarship recipients, local ministries, and the unifying power of music. The events will take place Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31, at Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Sheboygan and Lakeland University in Plymouth.

Thursday, October 30 – Scholarship and Grant Presentation Dinner

  • 6:30 PM: Dinner at Ebenezer UCC
  • 7:30–8:45 PM: Program featuring presentations by Julie Kinney of the Ebenezer Sonshine Stitchers Ministry and music by Rev. Dr. Christopher Grundy.
  • Three scholarships will be awarded during the evening. Guests may attend both the dinner and program or the program only.

Friday, October 31 – “What We Sing Matters” Workshop & Singalong

  • 9:00–11:30 AM: Bradley Auditorium, Lakeland University
  • Rev. Dr. Christopher Grundy leads a morning of singing, reflection, and insight into how congregational music can inspire compassion and justice.
  • Designed for clergy, worship leaders, and anyone who loves to sing.

About the Presenter

Rev. Dr. Christopher Grundy serves as Academic Dean and Professor of Worship and Preaching at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis. His music appears in hymnals of the United Church of Christ, United Church of Canada, and the Hymn Society. His recordings blend folk, gospel, and contemporary styles, appealing to listeners of all ages.

Admission and Registration

Admission is free for both days. A freewill offering will support future scholarships and grants through UCMW.
