Shipwrecked! Spring Break Theatre Camp Set for March 23–26 in Sheboygan
SHEBOYGAN, WI – February 11, 2025 – The Sheboygan Theatre Company is inviting local students to set sail on a creative adventure during its Shipwrecked! Spring Break Drama Camp, happening March 23 through March 26, 2026, at Longfellow Elementary School in Sheboygan.
Designed for kindergarten through fifth grade students, this afternoon theatre camp centers on imagination, teamwork, and performance. Campers will dive into a playful storyline where a shipwreck leaves them stranded on an island. Throughout the week, students will collaborate to create and perform an original show before “rescue” arrives, developing storytelling skills while building confidence and friendships.
The camp will be led by Abi Charbonneau, STC’s Executive Assistant and a Midwestern theatre artist with extensive experience in performance and youth arts education. Charbonneau has worked with organizations including First Stage, Children’s Theater of Madison, Danceworks MKE, Overture Center, and the New York City Ballet. She currently serves as a teaching artist with several Wisconsin arts organizations.
“Spring Break Drama Camp is designed to give young performers a space to explore creativity, teamwork, and storytelling in a fun and supportive environment,” said Tricia Roberts, STC Executive Director. “Abi brings a wonderful blend of professional theatre experience and a deep passion for arts education, making her a perfect fit to guide this imaginative week.”
“Spring Break is such a special opportunity for kids to explore creativity without pressure,” said Charbonneau. “This camp is designed to meet young performers exactly where they are, encouraging imagination, teamwork, and confidence through play, storytelling, and movement. I’m excited to help campers create something together that feels fun, expressive, and uniquely theirs.”
Camp activities will include high-energy ensemble games, costume and prop creation, and devised theatre work tailored to each age group. Music inspired by family favorites such as Finding Nemo, Moana, and The Little Mermaid will help bring the island-themed story to life. No prior theatre experience is required.
