Sheboygan Workforce Development Symposium Set for September 16 at Pine Hills

The Sheboygan County Chamber will bring employers, educators, school leaders and workforce professionals together Wednesday, September 16, for a half-day discussion about local workforce needs and career connections.
The Workforce Development Symposium is scheduled from 7:30 to 11 a.m. at Pine Hills Country Club, 4914 Superior Ave., in the City of Sheboygan. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., with presentations starting at 8 a.m.
Workforce and education connections
The Chamber describes the event as a forum for business and education leaders to better understand workforce development efforts at the local, regional and state levels. The program is intended for business owners, company executives, human resource professionals, K-12 administrators, educators, school counselors, post-secondary educators, technical education leaders and community leaders.
Featured participants include Sam Rikkers of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development regional economist Ryan Long, Sheboygan South High School Principal Kevin Formolo and Russell Coff of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business.
A workforce panel led by Anne Troka of Sargento is also scheduled. Panel participants listed by the Chamber include representatives from Kohler Foundation, Packaging Systems of Wisconsin and FifthColor.
Schedule and registration
The agenda lists presentations from 8 a.m., followed by the Golden Apple Awards at 10:45 a.m. The event is scheduled to end at 11 a.m. The awards recognize a workforce development educator and a business or organization recognized as a workforce education partner.
Registration includes a breakfast buffet. The Chamber lists admission at $50 for members and $100 for nonmembers. Employers, educators and other local talent-development leaders can review registration details through the Sheboygan County Chamber event page.
For local businesses and schools, the symposium offers a focused opportunity to compare workforce needs, discuss career readiness and identify stronger connections between classrooms and employers.
