Sheboygan County Food Bank Seeks Volunteers for Weekend Food Bags
Sheboygan, WI — September 17, 2026 — The Sheboygan County Food Bank is seeking volunteers to help prepare weekend food bags for local students as the 2026-27 school year gets underway.
Through the Food for Thought for Kids program, volunteers help gather and pack food bags for students who may not have access to school meals on Saturdays and Sundays. Both individuals and organized groups can participate.
What volunteers do
Volunteer tasks can include setting up work areas, packing bags, restocking supplies, flattening boxes and helping with cleanup. The Food Bank’s volunteer process includes options for individual volunteers as well as groups.

Program serves schools across the county
The Food for Thought program page says each weekend bag contains 10 nutritious items. Current program information lists 29 participating schools across Sheboygan County.
Seehafer News reported on September 16, 2026, that the program distributed just over 20,000 bags through 26 schools during the prior school year. Those figures reflect the previous school year and are separate from the current list of 29 partner schools on the Food Bank’s program page.
