Plymouth’s Scholar’s Ridge Marks Groundbreaking for 102-Home Plan
Scholar’s Ridge marked its groundbreaking on Friday, October 16, for a planned 102-home single-family development along South Pleasant View Road in the City of Plymouth.
The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation reported the milestone on October 23, along with details of the project’s public and private support. The groundbreaking is a material update since the October 15 preview of the event; it does not mean homes are now available to buy.
Funding comes from public and private partners
The EDC says the project has a $3.4 million Infrastructure Access Loan from the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, or WHEDA, and $2 million in Sheboygan County American Rescue Plan Act funding. The City of Plymouth is also supporting the development, but the cited sources do not give a dollar amount for the city’s contribution.
Johnsonville, Kohler Co., Masters Gallery Foods and Sargento each contributed $2 million through the Forward Fund, according to the EDC.
WHEDA says this is the first time its Infrastructure Access Loan has supported a single-family home development. The City of Plymouth’s Plan Commission record identifies Scholar’s Ridge as a 102-lot subdivision along Pleasant View Road.
Home prices and availability are not announced
The plan and groundbreaking do not establish when construction will proceed, when homes may be offered for sale or what individual homes may cost. Those details are not included in the cited announcements, so readers should not treat the groundbreaking as a sales or availability notice.
