Sheboygan County Hunters Can Prepare for Nov. 21 Deer Season Opener
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources issued a hunting-season reminder on Oct. 28, giving Sheboygan County hunters time to prepare for the statewide gun deer season, which opens Saturday, Nov. 21, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 29.
The DNR advises hunters to check current regulations and make sure they have the required licenses before heading into the field. Its 2026 season dates and bag limits explain that antlerless deer authorizations are tied to a specified zone, deer management unit and land type—public access or private land.
Check the rules for your hunting location
Before the opener, confirm the deer management unit and land designation for the specific place you plan to hunt. The DNR’s deer hunting guidance includes Sheboygan County information for metro subunits, but not every hunting location in the county is necessarily within one. Authorization options and requirements depend on the location and the authorization.
Hunters can use the DNR’s 2026 antlerless authorization availability page to check current availability. The page’s chart is a live feed, so refresh it before relying on availability information. This article does not report permit counts.
The DNR’s October 28 season reminder also points hunters to regulations, season dates and other planning resources. Checking the official guidance before departure can help confirm that the rules and authorization match the planned hunting location.
