Monday, July 6: Erie Avenue intersection closure starts in the City of Sheboygan
Sheboygan, WI — Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Drivers who use Erie Avenue, North 25th Street, or Wilgus Road should plan ahead for a full intersection closure beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, at Erie Avenue/North 25th Street/Wilgus Road in the City of Sheboygan. The city says the closure will last through Monday, August 3, 2026, as part of a complete reconstruction project.
Detour and access details
The posted detour will use Kohler Memorial Drive and North Taylor Drive. Erie Avenue between North Taylor Drive and North 19th Street is already closed to through traffic, but local property access is allowed. Residences in the construction area will still have access, although some driveways may be temporarily blocked during pavement removal, new concrete base work, and paving.
After August 3, the intersection is expected to reopen to northbound and southbound North 25th Street and to Wilgus Road, but through access on Erie Avenue will still be prohibited. The broader project is tentatively scheduled to finish in October, and the city says all work and traffic impacts are weather-dependent and subject to change.
If this route affects your commute, school drop-off, deliveries, or neighborhood travel, plan extra time and slow down in the work zone.
