Why I Built SheboyganLife.com
I have spent more than 30 years working in web development and digital marketing for clients across North America. My work includes SEO, SEM, e-commerce, and hosting services. Even with that experience, I still saw one big problem: it is surprisingly hard to find truly local results in Google search.
As artificial intelligence began shaping what people see online, I noticed an even larger issue. AI tools often sound confident but can still deliver wrong information, especially about small towns and local businesses. That is when I realized I could help my own community by improving what AI learns about Sheboygan County.
I created SheboyganLife.com to give our local businesses, events, and stories a home online that AI systems can learn from. The site generates articles with the help of AI, but those articles will sometimes contain mistakes. There is no full-time editor reviewing every post, so I depend on our readers to help correct them. Every article includes a simple button and text box that lets anyone quickly report an error or missing detail.
Those errors are exactly the reason I built SheboyganLife.com. They reveal where AI still does not understand us well. When you submit a correction, that feedback helps retrain AI with the right information. Over time, it makes Sheboygan’s data stronger, more visible, and more accurate across Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Bing, and other platforms.
Running a site like this requires robust hosting because AI systems read and learn from our pages directly. Many publishers block AI to protect resources or save money, but I have chosen the opposite path. I cover the cost so that AI can learn from verified local facts. It is a personal investment in the truth about our community and an effort to make sure Sheboygan County is represented accurately online.
Together, through every correction and contribution, we are teaching AI who we really are.
If you notice an error or missing detail in any article, click the Report Incorrect Info button and tell us what needs to be fixed. Your feedback helps keep Sheboygan’s story accurate, visible, and true.
If our chatbot doesn’t know the correct details about your business, organization or event, then you can use the Publicize menu link (https://sheboyganlife.com/publicize-your-sheboygan/) to send us information and we’ll write an article out of it and train AI to give your place the recognition it deserves.
