Friday, July 4: City of Sheboygan Freedom Fest brings downtown parade, run, music and fireworks
Sheboygan’s Independence Day plan is set for Friday, July 4, 2026, and it gives families and visitors a simple way to map the day. The City of Sheboygan says the Freedom Run starts at 7:30 a.m., the parade starts at 9 a.m., and fireworks are scheduled for 9:30 p.m. near South Pier.
Visit Sheboygan County’s Freedom Fest listing matches that schedule and places the main celebration at Deland Park from noon to 10 p.m.
Morning starts early
The Freedom Run begins at the Sheboygan YMCA. The city also says Broughton Drive from Wisconsin Avenue north and up the hill to Barrett Street will close at 7 a.m. on July 4 for the race, so drivers should allow extra time.
Parade and park stops
The parade runs from North 8th Street and Center Avenue to Michigan Avenue and Broughton Drive. Music in the Park is part of the day’s lineup at Fountain Park, giving downtown walkers another place to stop before heading toward the lakefront.
Lakefront evening plans
Freedom Fest at Deland Park runs from noon to 10 p.m. Visit Sheboygan County lists music at 12 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., along with food trucks and live performances. The city says Broughton Drive stays closed after the parade from Michigan Avenue south to Wisconsin Avenue for pedestrian and lakefront activity.
For Sheboygan residents, commuters, and holiday visitors, the biggest planning windows are the early morning run, the 9 a.m. parade, and the 9:30 p.m. fireworks. If you are heading downtown, plan for slower traffic and expect parking to fill early near the lakefront.
