Wednesday, May 20: Waves build along Sheboygan to Port Washington nearshore waters
May 19, 2026
The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan says the Sheboygan to Port Washington nearshore waters will turn rougher again on Wednesday, May 20. The 3:10 PM CDT marine forecast says the current Small Craft Advisory ends at 4 PM Tuesday, then north winds turn northeast and waves build to 2 to 4 feet late Wednesday afternoon.
The 3:38 PM CDT Hazardous Weather Outlook backs that up for the nearshore waters from Sheboygan to Winthrop Harbor, saying persistent easterly winds will build high waves Wednesday afternoon through Friday. For small boats, kayaks, and paddleboards, Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night are the periods to watch most closely.
