A National Weather Service Small Craft Advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, through 3 p.m. CST Wednesday, Nov. 4, for Lake Michigan nearshore waters from Sheboygan to Winthrop Harbor, including the Sheboygan-to-Port Washington zone.
Check marine conditions before departure
NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan issued the advisory at 12:01 p.m. CST Sunday, Nov. 1. The forecast calls for south winds of 15 to 25 knots, gusts up to 30 knots and waves of 6 to 9 feet. The NWS says conditions will be hazardous to small craft.
The NWS advises inexperienced mariners, especially small-vessel operators, to avoid navigating in hazardous conditions. Check the latest NWS marine alert and Sheboygan marine forecast before departure. The advisory applies to the specified Lake Michigan waters, not inland Sheboygan County.
