Monday, August 31: Overnight I-43 Ramp Closures Planned Near WIS 23
Sheboygan, WI — August 31, 2026
Drivers using the I-43 and WIS 23 interchange in the City of Sheboygan should plan for overnight ramp closures from 8 p.m. Monday, August 31, until 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 1.
WisDOT says the work is part of the ongoing I-43 resurfacing project in Sheboygan County. The closures are scheduled for overnight shouldering operations and affect two southbound ramps:
- The southbound I-43 off-ramp to westbound WIS 23
- The southbound I-43 on-ramp from eastbound WIS 23
Drivers should follow posted signs
WisDOT warns that additional I-43 lane closures and changing work-zone traffic control may create delays near the interchange. The agency does not plan to provide a separate detour route for these overnight ramp closures.
Drivers should follow posted work-zone signs, allow extra travel time and consider adjusting plans during the 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. closure window. Conditions may change as crews move through the work area.
Work continues through September 4
The ramp closures are part of a broader construction work period scheduled in Sheboygan County from Monday, August 31, through Friday, September 4. WisDOT says motorists should expect continuing traffic impacts on I-43 and WIS 23 near the project limits.
WHBL’s Monday morning roadwork report also identified the overnight closures and continuing lane restrictions near the interchange.
