Heaviest rain expected late Friday into Saturday morning
The NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan office said the heaviest rainfall is expected mainly from late Friday night into Saturday morning. Its Hazardous Weather Outlook calls for 1 to 3 inches of rain across the area, with locally higher amounts possible.
An Area Forecast Discussion issued at 6:25 p.m. CDT Thursday described a general 1.5- to 2.5-inch rainfall expectation. It also noted that a very localized 4- to 6-inch total could occur if a heavier rain band develops. That higher amount is not expected across the county as a whole.
Flooding concerns depend on where heavy rain sets up
The potential impacts include ponding and flooding in low-lying or poorly drained areas, along with possible urban, small-stream, river and isolated flash flooding if heavier rain persists over one location. The exact flooding risk will depend on the placement and duration of the heaviest rainfall.
