Town of Scott, Weekly News Brief (Sheboygan County Focus)
I-43 Reconstruction Underway in Sheboygan County
Major road construction is now underway on Interstate 43 in Sheboygan County, with work beginning March 2. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the long-term reconstruction project will continue through much of 2026, with shifting traffic patterns and lane impacts expected.
For Town of Scott residents who commute toward Sheboygan, Manitowoc, or Fond du Lac, this project could mean delays, especially during peak travel times. The most disruptive phase is expected later this summer at the I-43 and Highway 23 interchange, where extended ramp and bridge work is planned.
Drivers are encouraged to monitor 511WI updates and allow extra travel time as construction zones evolve.
Resurfacing and Structure Work Along I-43 Corridor
In addition to reconstruction, resurfacing and structural improvements along stretches of I-43 in Sheboygan County also began March 2. The project includes work between Wilson and WIS 42 in the Town of Sheboygan.
While not directly within Town of Scott boundaries, these improvements affect regional traffic flow and may alter detour routes or travel times for residents heading east toward the lakeshore or connecting highways. Motorists should expect work zones, reduced speeds, and intermittent lane closures as the project progresses.
Area Schools: Spring Break Approaching
Families connected to the Sheboygan Area School District should note that spring break is scheduled for March 20 through March 27. There will also be no school for students on March 30 due to staff professional development.
The district recently opened summer school registration, offering academic and enrichment programming. Families interested in planning ahead for summer activities can review available courses and deadlines through the district website.
Upcoming governance activity includes a Board of Education meeting scheduled for March 10 in Sheboygan.
Looking Ahead
With warmer weather in the forecast this weekend and into early next week, construction activity across the county is expected to ramp up. Town of Scott residents should stay alert for seasonal road postings and regional transportation updates as spring approaches.
