I-43 resurfacing project starts March 2: WisDOT’s I-43 resurfacing in Sheboygan County is set to begin March 2 on roughly 10 miles between Wilson/Lima Road (Town of Wilson) and WIS 42 (Town of Sheboygan). WisDOT notes the interstate will generally be open to one lane in portions of the work zone, with multiple on- and off-ramps in the project area closing at various times. Completion is currently listed as late October 2026. For Town of Rhine residents commuting toward Sheboygan, I-43 access and ramp closure timing could affect trip planning.

Schools (Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah SD)

Girls basketball playoff score: Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah posted a close first-round result in the WIAA girls basketball playoffs, falling 52–48 to Wild Rose (reported Feb. 24). Families in Town of Rhine include many students and fans connected to ELG schools and activities in Elkhart Lake.

Upcoming school board meeting dates

The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah School District lists upcoming board meeting dates, including March 16, 2026 (meetings begin at 6:00 p.m.). Residents who follow school budgeting, staffing, facilities, or policy changes may want to review the district’s agenda postings ahead of time.

Local government (Town of Rhine)

Town Board meeting cadence: The Town of Rhine posts that its Board of Supervisors meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall (unless otherwise stated). With March 3, 2026 falling on the first Tuesday, residents can watch for the meeting agenda and any posted notices on the town website and town postings.
