District 8 alder primary (Wards 15 & 16)
Sheboygan voters in Wards 15 and 16 held a spring primary on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 to narrow the District 8 alder race. Polling locations listed for the two wards were Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (Ward 15) and Bethany Reformed Church (Ward 16). If you missed the primary, the City’s voter information page also notes upcoming 2026 election dates and local options for returning absentee ballots, including the City Clerk’s Office and the ballot drop box at Mead Public Library.

I-41 construction impacts (week of Feb. 16)
WisDOT’s I-41 project update for the week of February 16 includes overnight lane reductions and scheduled overnight closures. The update also notes a longer-term impact: Lynndale Drive is reduced to one lane in each direction through late spring 2026. Looking ahead, the project update lists French Road between County DDD and Apple Creek Road as scheduled to close starting Monday, February 23, 2026 through late fall 2026. As always, work is subject to change, so check before you drive if your commute uses I-41 or nearby connectors.

Winter weather closures: SASD planning reminder
The Sheboygan Area School District shared a reminder this week that when winter weather forces cancellations, the district will use Virtual Learning Days. The district outlined that elementary students should have take-home materials, while middle and high school students will follow live virtual instruction aligned with their regular schedules. Families are notified via phone, email, and text, with notices also posted to district channels.
