Road work

I-43 resurfacing in Sheboygan County begins today (March 2). Wisconsin DOT’s project page says early work includes tree clearing and right-of-way fencing with minimal traffic impacts at first, with structure work and longer-term lane closures beginning mid-March. The project corridor runs from Wilson/Lima Road (Town of Wilson) to WIS 42 (Town of Sheboygan) and includes segments through the City of Sheboygan and Village of Kohler. Drivers should expect periodic lane closures and ramp impacts as the season progresses.

Public safety

Sheboygan Police front-desk hours change effective today (March 2). The department posted updated customer service desk hours as Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, noting this is for the customer service desk only and does not change emergency response. The post also lists the non-emergency number for after-hours assistance.

Local government & city services

City of Sheboygan DPW status update (posted March 1): the DPW dashboard shows curbside garbage and recycling collection as on schedule and lists no active city road closures at the time of the update. If you are planning trips for the week, it is still worth checking daily for changes, especially as highway construction activity ramps up.

Sheboygan Area School District: Board meeting reminder. The district calendar lists a Board of Education Committees & Full Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 6:00 PM–7:00 PM at 3330 Stahl Road in Sheboygan.

Community events

Mead Public Library (Sheboygan)

The library’s weekly calendar shows the start of the PEEPS Diorama Contest (runs March 1–April 2, registration required) plus regular youth programming (including Baby & Me Storytime listed on Monday, March 2 in the weekly view).

Sheboygan Falls Memorial Library

The library’s event list includes recurring early-learning programs (including Babytime listed as happening tomorrow at 10:00 AM in the current listing view) plus upcoming programs later in March.
