Local government & development

Downtown housing plans advanced this week as the City of Sheboygan Finance and Personnel Committee approved tax incremental financing (TIF) development agreements tied to a proposed 126-unit apartment building at the former Wells Fargo site (636 Wisconsin Ave.), plus a separate rent-capped townhome component across the street. Next steps will depend on the project timeline and additional city processes described in the committee-related coverage.

Schools

Sheboygan Area School District lists Friday, Feb. 27 as parent-teacher conferences, with no school for students. Families can also find upcoming district calendar items (including March board meetings and spring break dates) on the district site.

Road work & city services

I-43 resurfacing starts March 2

WisDOT is flagging the start of I-43 resurfacing work in Sheboygan County on Monday, March 2, covering about 10 miles from Wilson/Lima Road (Town of Wilson) to WIS 42 (Town of Sheboygan). The project information notes lane impacts and ramp closures at various times, with work scheduled to run into late October 2026.

DPW updates

The City of Sheboygan Department of Public Works posted a notice that the Residential Recycling Center at the Municipal Service Building (2026 New Jersey Ave.) would be closed Wednesday, Feb. 25. DPW also notes its service-status dashboard and additional updates through its news page.

Public safety

The Sheboygan Police Department posted a notice that its customer service window would be temporarily closed on Thursday, Feb. 26 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The department also highlights updates on desk hours and community-facing programs, including information posted for a 2026 Skate with a Cop event and applications for its 2026 Citizen Academy.

Community calendar

Looking ahead to Saturday night, the Sheboygan Theatre Company is promoting its 4th Annual Murder Mystery Gala on Feb. 28 at the Sheboygan Yacht Club, with ticketing and event details posted through the Sheboygan County Chamber listing.
